  • expand_moreAt what point is my reservation guaranteed?

    Your reservation request is not a guarantee as to availability. Our guest relations staff will review your request and contact you if for any reason the request cannot be accepted. Additionally, your reservation is not guaranteed until initial payment in accordance with our payment schedule has been received and the reservation has been confirmed by MakeMyVacation.com.

  • expand_moreWhat are your check-in and check-out times?

    Check-in time is at 3:00 PM (or later) on the day of arrival. Check-out time is no later than 10:00 AM on the day of departure. For E-14 Crown Jewel of the Sea, check-in time is always 4:00 PM.

  • expand_moreWhat fees and taxes will be added to the rental cost?

    Three amounts are added to the base rental rate for each reservation: a) 11.5% TAX, which is comprised of a 10% Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) and a 1.5% Oceanside Tourism Marketing District Assessment Tax (OTMD). (This applies to all stays of less than 29 nights in duration. Taxes will NOT apply to rentals of 29 nights or greater in duration.) b) Cleaning fee of $145 to $195, depending upon the size of the condo and the number of windows. (Exception: E-14 Crown Jewel of the Sea has a cleaning fee of $525 due to the expansive two-story windows.) c) Non-refundable Damage Protection Fee of $50.00 per rental for EVERY rental.

  • expand_moreWhat is a Security Damage Protection Fee?

    MakeMyVacation.com charges a mandatory non-refundable $50 Damage Protection Fee in lieu of a standard security deposit. This fee covers any damage to the property (subject to exclusions and limitations) during your stay for up to $500.00. Damage amounts in excess of $500.00 will be the guest’s responsibility and will be billed separately.

  • expand_moreWhat is the payment schedule?

    A $500.00 rental deposit (applied to total balance) and non-refundable Damage Protection Fee of $50.00 are due at the time of reservation confirmation, for a total of $550.00. (For E-14, $950.00) Remaining balance (inclusive of cleaning fee) is due in full on or before 60 days prior to check-in date. Balance will be automatically charged to credit card on file 60 days prior to check-in. b) For reservations 60 days or less in advance of check-in date: Total charges (inclusive of cleaning fee and damage protection fee) are due in full at the time of reservation confirmation

  • expand_moreWhat is the cancellation policy?

    If cancellation or non-payment occurs more than 60 days prior to your check-in date, then the rental deposit of $550.00 will be refunded. This refund will be processed within 21 days of your cancellation. If cancellation or non-payment occurs within 60 days prior to your check-in date, the full rental amount (inclusive of cleaning fees and non-refundable damage protection fee) is FORFEITED unless the property is re-rented for equal rates for the secured dates.

  • expand_more Is smoking allowed?

    North Coast Village is a non-smoking complex. Smoking is not allowed in the units, on the balconies, or anywhere on the grounds. Our "Seaview Retreat" property on The Strand does allow smoking on the balcony and patio.

  • expand_more How many people can stay in a condo?

    Oceanside regulations provide that the maximum occupancy for a studio or 1-bedroom condo is 4 people, maximum occupancy for a 2-bedroom is 6 people, and maximum occupancy for a 3-bedroom is 8 people. The age of the person is irrelevant; babies and toddlers do count, even though they take up much less space. The North Coast Village HOA levies a $500 fine (per person per night) for any violation of this rule.

  • expand_more Can I bring my pet?

    Pets are NOT allowed in any of the MakeMyVacation.com properties.

  • expand_more Does the condo have air conditioning?

    Air conditioning is NOT available in any of the North Coast Village properties except E-14. Many rooms have ceiling fans and we also provide portable fans.

  • expand_more Should I purchase travel insurance?

    We encourage you to purchase Trip/Travel Insurance from ANY reputable travel insurance company to cover your rental payment in the case of unexpected cancellation. Trip/Travel insurance typically also includes a wide range of other travel assistance services (such as travel delays, accidents, lost baggage, etc.). Please check with your insurance agent.

  • expand_more What do we do if we're bringing a second car?

    Most of our properties come with one designated parking space in a gated garage. The following properties come with two parking spaces: B315, D303, E14, E303, E310, G125, and G315. If you need to park an additional vehicle, there are two options. The "A" building and "B" building garages have a few "24-hour" parking spaces that are first-come first-serve. However, if you park there you will need to display a rental parking sign from the HOA and you MUST move your vehicle every 24 hours or you will get a $50 fine. The other option is to park in the municipal lot across Pacific Street, which costs $5 per day.

  • expand_more Are there any special rules I need to know about North Coast Village?

    Yes. When parking in the underground garage at North Coast Village, all vehicles must pull straight in. No backing in is allowed. In addition, the maximum size of the vehicle allowed is: Height: 6 ½ Feet; Length: 21 Feet. Also, nothing is allowed to be hung over the balcony railings, such as beach towels. The North Coast Village HOA imposes a $50 fine for each occurrence of backing into a parking space or hanging items over the balconies.

  • expand_more What's up with the dredging?

    Each year the Army Corps of Engineers engages in a sand-replenishing program (also known as dredging) where it removes about 180,000 cubic yards of sand from the mouth of the Oceanside Harbor, where winter ocean currents have deposited it, and replenishes the beach with it. This usually occurs in late spring to early summer and usually lasts no more than ten days to two weeks. MakeMyVacation.com has no control over when this occurs, how long it lasts, or where the equipment is located.
