LAX Airport

Airport Options

If you’re flying into the area, you have three major airport choices within about 100 miles of Oceanside CA:

  • San Diego International Airport (SAN): approximately 40 miles from Oceanside CA, about a 45-60 minute drive depending on traffic.
  • John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA): around 50 miles away in Orange County — a solid alternative if SAN is busy.
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): roughly 90 miles away; travel time varies widely with traffic so best reserved as a backup option.

Tip: If your rental pickup is early morning or late night, SAN typically offers the most reliable commute time.

San Diego freeway traffic

Driving to North Coast Village

From Los Angeles (I-5 North):

  • Take Exit 54C (Oceanside Harbor Drive). Head west until you hit the T-intersection about two blocks off I-5.
  • Turn left onto Harbor Drive South, then follow about half a block to the “Y” intersection and bear left (still Harbor Drive South).
  • Continue around the harbor, go up the bridge to the stop sign, then turn left at that stop sign onto North Pacific Street. Our vacation rental complex appears immediately on the right (west side); the parking lot is right behind the “pelican” sign.

From San Diego (I-5 North):

  • Take Exit 53 (Mission Avenue). Head west until the T-dead-end hits the ocean, then turn right (north) onto Pacific Street.
  • Continue through several stop signs and through the intersection with Breakwater Way.
  • Our complex is then on the left (west) side of North Pacific Street and you’ll see the parking lot just beyond.

Having GPS handy is smart; parking is limited and spots fill quickly during peak seasons.

Driving to 1025 South Pacific Street in South Oceanside

Exit the I-5 freeway at Oceanside Blvd (Exit 52), and turn right onto Oceanside Blvd. Proceed 1 mile, and then turn right onto South Pacific Street. The property will be 0.1 miles down S. Pacific on the left side of the street.

Public Transit & Local Transport

For those who prefer not to drive, Oceanside CA offers several transit solutions:

  • Train: The Metrolink and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner stop at Oceanside Transit Center, giving you easy access to Los Angeles, San Diego and the coast line.
  • Bus: The North County Transit District (NCTD) runs local buses around Oceanside and to surrounding cities — check schedules at NCTD.net.
  • Ride-Share & Taxi: Uber/Lyft operate in the area and can be useful for short hops or airport pickups.
  • Bike & Scooter Rentals: For short distances and beachside fun, bike rentals are widely available near the harbor or pier area.

Tip: If you plan to explore beyond our rental, allow extra time for transit transfers. Driving is sometimes faster, especially for larger groups.

North Coast Village parking garage

Parking & Driving Tips

  • Parking at North Coast Village is located in a designated parking space in a gated garage, and each property comes with one space. When staying at our South Oceanside property, each rental comes with one parking space in the three-car garage on the property.
  • Traffic considerations: I-5 can be congested during weekday mornings/afternoons. If arriving or departing “rush hour”, allow an extra 15-30 minutes.
  • Beach-area driving: Narrow streets, one-way zones and heavy pedestrian traffic near the pier and harbor mean slower driving — set travel expectations accordingly.
  • Rental car: If you’ll be going off-site (e.g. day trips to San Diego or north to Carlsbad), having a rental car adds flexibility. Make sure to select a compact spot if staying in the harbor area.

Being informed about parking and traffic ensures a smoother arrival and better vacation start.
